Postgraduate student of the Department of Viticulture Alexander Milovanov from 30 August to 20 October 2014 passes the internship at the Institute of Julius Kuhn in Germany, the purpose of which is joint research and scientific publications with German colleagues.
In the framework of the international research program "COST Action-2014” studied genetic resources of grapes. In the course of this work, Alexander plans to describe 100 indigenous varieties and 21 varieties of wild grape vines using microsatellite markers and markers of resistance to pests and diseases.
The results of the work will be included in the international database of grapes varieties "The European Vitis Database” and will be presented at the conference “COST Action-2014” 7-9 February in Lisbon, where Alexander will give a report.
