On January 29, Natalia Konovalova, Business Development Manager from the Australian Trade and Investment Commission of the Australian Embassy in Moscow, visited our University. This is the first visit of a representative of the Australian Commission in the history of the Krasnodar Territory. The guest was welcomed by Eleanora Nainodina,Head of International and External Relations Department, and Artyom Stepovoy, Dean of the Processing Technologies Faculty. The negotiations started from a brief presentation of the State Agrarian University history, introduction to its infrastructure and the Biotechnology Research Institute. This set the right tone for the future fruitful dialogue.
The meeting objective was to identify potential partnership areas for the two countries in the agro-industrial sector. The discussion touched upon potential cooperation in the area of ecology research, as well as development and testing of new technologies in the processing industry. The development of relations between the Krasnodar Territory and the southern country presents a significant opportunity for the agro-industrial complex of Russia. Australia has gained international recognition in several agricultural areas, such as biotechnology, «smart» farming, precision farming, food safety.
The Commission representative was interested to know about the University priorities: what are the opportunities of receiving grants for projects with foreign partners, what are the areas of interest for joint graduate and post-graduate programs, including online training. Depending on this, it is possible to search for foreign partners in Australia.
