A delegation of French R&D Institute Arvalis and ESA Ecole Superieur d'Agriculture, Angers, France, represented by Stephan Brochier, head of ESA international relations office, Margaux Verdier, wheat market analyst, Baptiste Dubois and Yannick Carrel, agricultural ingeneers in charge of economic studies at Arvalis, Louise Boucard and Olesia Surinova, ESA Master students visited Kuban SAU on April 26. The group has been conducting a study on the evolution of Russian wheat production and supply chain.
Within the framework of the round table discussion French scientists and lecturers of Management and Marketing Chair discussed issues of production, logistics and marketing of modern corn markets, opportunities for scientific cooperation, exchange of experience and publishing of research results. The Chair lecturers consulted Louise Boucard and Olesia Surinova on marketing research of wheat markets for making their Master Diploma papers.
France with population 67 mln. people produces more than 1 ton of corn per person. Russia at the beginning of 2017/18 marketing year reached the same specific level with the volume of 144 mln. tons of crop with 73 mln. tons for domestic consumption, and more than 40 mln. tons for export. The remaining 27 mln. tons today exert unwanted pressure on domestic market prices. French domestic crop market is facing similar but even more pressing problem. Scientists of both countries actively discussed ways of solving the problem and other relevant issues of corn economics.
On behalf of Kuban SAU Arkady Moiseev, Head of Science Office, Aleksey Tolmachev, Head of Management and Marketing Chair and Inna Ivanova, lecturer of Economics Faculty took part in the discussion.
The meeting was held in a warm, friendly atmosphere. The parties got interested in further fruitful cooperation of the educational institutions.
Kuban SAU always welcomes international cooperation!
