The interfaculty scientific student conference «Mentality of the peoples of the world in the legal field» was held on November 25 where the first-year students of Law were especially active.

Today it is useful to know and understand that the way of life of other peoples, their mental characteristics should not be subject to political and ideological speculations. In relations between Nations one should follow the same rules of etiquette, which are observed in the relations between mannered people in a civilized society. Preparing for the conference, teachers and students came to a consensus that there was a need for a thorough understanding of the national mentality and its role in the legal field. Organizers of the conference were Department of History and Political Science Professor Asiet Askerovna Ashkhamakhova and associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Lyudmila Ivanovna Gushchina.

Conference participants learned many interesting things about the peculiarities of thinking and way of life of different peoples. So, the mentality of the Russian people was presented by the students Konstantin Kulenko, Roman Sharov, Dmitry Sereda. About the traditions and customs of Adyghe people informative and interesting presentation was prepared by Astemir Shishev, Amir khoretluk, Elmira Beslimenova, Saida Zaziy, Felix Shavilov and others, the peculiarities of the Gypsy dance culture was presented by Maria Lyubimova, Polina Zolotareva, Regina Vasilchenko, Anastasia Roditeleva; the mentality of the Lezgin people – by Hanuma Kadymova. The participants of this unusual conference learned about the mentality of the Greeks, the peculiarities of their national cuisine, and even managed to get acquainted with ancient Japanese sports (Daria and Alina Leushins, Yana Olefir, Juliana Gedz).

In the end, all agreed that we must practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbors, as it is written in the preamble of the UN Charter. We believe that both in the nearest future and in the distant future, such distinctive features of the Russian mentality as peacefulness, diplomacy and tolerance will remain unchanged.
