A delegation from Abkhazian State University visited Kuban SAU from the 10th to the 15th of September. Within the visit a round table discussion “Dialogue of two cultures: Russia and Abkhazia” was held on the 13th of September.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of Abkhazian State University: Nana Shakaya, Head of Chair for Technologies of subtropical and food and flavoring products, Abkhazian State University students, Eleonora Naynodina, Head of the Department of International and External Relations of Kuban SAU, Artem Stepovoj, Dean of Processing Technologies Faculty, Professor Elena Shcherbakova, Head of master academic program “Vegetable-based Food Products”, Heads of Processing Technologies Faculty Chairs and Kuban SAU students of the Faculty from Abkhazia.
During the meeting the parties discussed their universities and prospective cooperation for organization of internships for students studying Processing Technologies at Kuban SAU. The collogues also talked about joint research and academic work. Artem Stepovoj offered Abkhazian State University graduates to study master program of Kuban SAU Processing Technologies Faculty. The university staff agreed to make joint publications of research results and develop academic mobility programs for students and staff. Abkhazian State University students shared their experiences and impressions of Kuban SAU.
Within the visit Kuban SAU staff organized a round the university excursion for the guests. The delegation visited the Research Institute of Biotechnology and Certification of Food Products where Professor Ludmila Donchenko, Head of the Research Institute told about its work, showed up-to-date equipment and laboratories. The students also visited Kuban SAU academic farm “Kuban” and its eco gardens.
Summarizing the results of the visit the parties agreed that such internships should be traditional for both universities, because it promotes exchange of academic experience and increases the quality of education.
